My favorite London things
Happy ONE year anniversary of living in London to me!
On this exact day one year ago, I stepped off the plane with only 2 big suitcases, a carry on, and a backpack, ready to take on my life’s biggest chapter yet.
In just a short year I traveled to three new countries, met some amazing girlfriends, memorized the tube map, drank 365+ cups of craft coffee, finished my MBA (almost), and got a job at a great company who will sponsor me and let me continue living in my favorite city.
Don’t get me wrong, there have been plenty of challenges with living abroad as well…who remembers the great conundrum of how the heck do I get a bank account or phone plan or lease agreement without already having one of the other? Or my first time in an NHS emergency room… the few too many bad dates…or trying to get anywhere in the city during a train strike.
London life though suits me well. I love conquering transportation or strolling around new neighborhoods with my coffee, satisfying my inner foodie, and immersing myself in British culture. So cheers to the first year of hopefully many living life abroad!
To celebrate a year of living in London, I’ve been reflecting on some of my favorite places and things I’ve stumbled upon in the city this past year.
