Hey there!

I’m a 20 something adventurer sharing my journey dancing through destinations. I’d like to think of myself as a travel logistical wizard. Whether you are balling on a budget, solo traveling, or have only 2 weeks PTO a year, my travel blog can apply to any solo traveler. Enjoy my stories & tips as I dance through life!

Wanderlust Gift Guide 2020 edition

Wanderlust Gift Guide 2020 edition

Y’all we have almost made it through 2020. Only 30 days left to go! Proud of us all for not giving up at this point. 👏🏼

With the holidays coming up, please please please be mindful of who you are around & how you are staying safe. Find testing sites and get them done often (there are so many FREE places!) I am not even going home for Thanksgiving in order to keep my family safe, and so I personally will not be promoting travel that isn’t driving distance until things settle down more. I want to see all your lovely faces be able to travel next year :)

The one really good thing though to come out of 2020 is how much money I’ve saved by not traveling 😅 and while it looks like I won’t be traveling in the near future still, it’s the perfect time to update your top packed items. Hopefully some of these gift ideas spark some holiday inspiration for you to either receive or give some great gifts! I tried my best to find items you can use year round even when you are jet setting around the globe!

  1. Madewell puffy jacket, $138

This jacket looks like your average puffy plane winter jacket, but it actually folds up into a neck pillow! This gives you plenty of extra space in your bag for all those other important cute comfy winter clothes.

  2. Scratch off travel map, $28.80

what I liked most about this brand is that they have different maps for different types of travelers. For instance, I have a friend who loves all the national parks and we get her this one! But they also have ones for US states or a world map.

  3. Away Suitcase, $225-$295

I have nothing but great things to say about my away suitcase! I got the light pink color hesitantly because I’ve had such terrible luck with all the black marks suitcases tend to get from airport security not handling them gently. But even when there was a black mark, all I had to do was wipe it with a Mr. clean and it was back to brand new! They also have a lifetime warranty so it is worth the investment rather than buying cheap suitcases every couple of years. Away is currently doing Black Friday/cyber deals this week so definitely go snag an investment piece!

  4. Lululemon beyond the studio joggers, $128

To me, these are the perfect travel pants. Plenty of pockets with zippers so you don’t lose important documents… the tie waist for when your body swells a bit from the sodium rich foods they serve on the overnight flights… and the ruched bottoms gives it a trendy feel.

  5. Quip Toothbrush, $40

I cannot tell you how many years I asked for a sonic toothbrush. I mean YEARS. And yet, my parents didn’t gift me it saying a normal one works just fine until Christmas a few years back. I was STOKED to finally get it, and then only used it for a month before I went back to a normal one. Why? Because it was a lot to travel with the cords & plug ins. But now we have options like this, that are sleek in design & easy to travel with! They currently have a 40% off black Friday deal going.

  6. Homesick Candles, $34

I don’t know about you, but I’m feeling homesick for cities that I was supposed to travel to this year (thanks covid). A lot of us associate smells with memories, so I think it’s awesome to have candles that remind you of your travels or maybe even of home if they are currently away & can’t visit for the holidays. Right now they are also doing 15% off if you sign up for their emails.

  7. Collapsible travel mug, £14.99
Created by Steph Elswood, who is one of my favorites to follow, this is a wonderful small business option and even comes in his and her color cups. A collapsible water bottle would be a great option too. Unfortunately, due to Covid they are currently not shipping internationally, but I bet you can find similar small business options stateside!

  8. Osprey Farpoint, $103

I have a feeling with more of us not traveling internationally due to Covid, we are going to opt for more domestic adventures especially in the great outdoors so we can all space out. I was told by my good friend who is a big camper that this is her backpack of choice!

  9. Mask Travel case, $9.99

I have a feeling masks will become a part of our travel life well past the vaccine coming out. To ensure you have your masks are all packed safely, this cute case is personalized & can be used everyday as well. Great stocking stuffer! Also, if you are my friend you will be receiving one of these. You’re welcome.

  10. Pin your home pillow, $25

The site is more for my local Tampa peeps, but I bet you can find other local small businesses on Etsy that can create a custom map pillow like this one. I would love my future home to have pillows like this pinned from all the places I’ve lived!

  11. Rosetta Stone membership

As much as I try to learn key phrases before a trip to a new country, I’ve always wanted to have a second language fully under my belt. Now is the perfect time to learn a language!

  12. Gift Cards

You can’t go wrong with a good gift card. A lot of times, travel takes up the budget, so here are some ideas of places to buy cards from that can help fund their trips:

    • Airbnb

    • Award miles from AA

    • Hotels.com

    • REI

    • Southwest

    • Uber

There you have it! These are obviously just a few ideas, but I would love to hear what you are asking for this Christmas!

Sincerely,

Sarah
